वसंत पंचमी (Vasant Panchami) माघ मास में आने वाला एक पर्व है। इसकी तिथि ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर से नहीं, पंचांग की तिथि से तय होती है, इसलिए हर वर्ष अंग्रेज़ी तारीख बदलती है और पंचांग से ही निकाली जाती है। इस दिन कोई व्रत निर्धारित नहीं है। पर्व का स्वरूप और पूजा विधि हर वर्ष वही रहती है।

हर वर्ष यह पर्व माघ मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की Panchami तिथि को मनाया जाता है। चंद्र तिथि और ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर के अंतर के कारण अंग्रेज़ी तारीख़ हर वर्ष बदलती है।

इस पर्व के बारे में

माँ सरस्वती की आराधना का वसंत पर्व — पीले वस्त्र, पीले पुष्प और मीठे भोग के साथ विद्या, संगीत और कला की देवी की पूजा होती है। छोटे बच्चों का विद्यारंभ संस्कार भी इसी दिन किया जाता है।

The spring festival of Maa Saraswati — devotees wear yellow, offer yellow flowers and sweets to the goddess of learning, and begin new studies, music, and arts. Young children are often given their first letters on this day (Vidyarambh).

महत्व

Heralds the arrival of spring and honours Saraswati, the shakti of knowledge, speech, and the arts. For students facing a weak Budh or struggling concentration, Saraswati puja on this day is the classical upay; musicians and artists dedicate their instruments to the goddess. The day is also an abujh muhurat — auspicious without further calculation — so weddings, griha pravesh, and Vidyarambh are performed freely. Yellow, the colour of ripening mustard fields and of Brihaspati's wisdom, dominates everything from clothes to the kesar rice offered as bhog.

पूजा विधि (कैसे मनाएँ)

Bathe early and wear yellow or white. Place an image of Maa Saraswati with books, pens, or musical instruments before her. Offer yellow flowers, haldi, kesar rice, boondi, and white sweets. Recite the Saraswati Vandana or her beej mantra. Students should keep their books at the altar and avoid studying from them for the day — knowledge itself rests. Conclude with aarti and share the prasad; begin any new learning the same evening or next morning.
