To calculate Bhagyank, add every digit of your complete birth date — day, month, and year — and reduce the total to a single digit from 1 to 9. For example, for 15-08-1994: 1 + 5 + 0 + 8 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 4 = 37, then 3 + 7 = 10, then 1 + 0 = 1, so the Bhagyank is 1. Two things cause the difference. First, the system: Ishvaram uses the Chaldean letter mapping (the older system used in Vedic numerology, where no letter is assigned 9), while many Western sites use the Pythagorean map — so the Name Number can differ. Second, the reduction rule: Ishvaram reduces every total to a single digit 1-9, so a raw total of 11, 22 or 33 becomes 2, 4 or 6, whereas a site that keeps master numbers will show 11/22/33.
