What is a dosha, in plain terms?
A dosha is a specific planetary arrangement in your kundali that classical Jyotish treats as a recurring obstruction — Kaal Sarp when every graha sits between Rahu and Ketu, Mangal when Mars occupies certain houses from the lagna. It is a pattern, not a verdict. Its strength depends on which houses are involved, which lord is where, and whether other placements cancel it.
Does every dosha need a remedy?
No. Many doshas are cancelled outright by other placements — a Mangal Dosh matched by the same dosha in a partner's chart, a Kaal Sarp whose lords are strong — and a cancelled dosha needs nothing. The checkers here report the cancellation conditions alongside the finding so you can see whether it applies to you before anyone suggests an upay.
How is the upay chosen?
From the graha that is actually causing the pattern in your chart, not from the dosha's name. A Shani-driven obstruction and a Rahu-driven one carry different upays even when the surface complaint is identical, which is why a generic remedy list is worth less than one derived from your own placements.
